Sew What?

Scrapbooking is about trying new things; stepping out of your comfort zone. Since working at a scrapbooking store, I have *had* to try new things in this hobby to come up with classes. And I have tried things never before even attempted in my own work. A new challenge presented to me was to sew on my page. I LOVE the look of sewing on pages but it's pretty permanent so I didn't feel very confident that I could do this or be happy with what happened. Brenda from work just made up a sewing page for a class so I thought 'what the heck?'. And I did it! This layout of Lauryn is my first attempt at sewing and I think it works! It's amazing the look you get by just running your page through your sewing machine! I do have to admit though it was not easy sewing through the chipboard. But I think I do like the sewing and I think it will be staying around for a while so don't be surprised if you see more sewing on my future pages lol!

*Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE Basic Grey paper!!! OMG! I am soooooooo addicted!*

Never Fails!

Well it's been one of them days so far. And it's not even my kids this time lol. After dance class today I decided to stop into Foodtown for some much needed Ginger Kisses (2/$3, can't pass that up!), no sooner than I walked through the plaza doors the damn fire alarm went off!!! Great, must be a sign!

Similiar thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago too. I get a call from the hospital that my name is finally at the top of the list to see the gyno. Well no sooner we get to out patient and they tell us the electric has gone out and we would have to come back at a later date. WHAT?!?!?! Now this is public health people, so nothing moves fast around here! And two weeks on, do ya think I've had a phone call? Nope, nodda. And this is the type of phone call where you have to drop what you're doing and go when they say. There's absolutely no allowance.

And just another 'ole stab at me today. The light bulb in the computer room blew. So I attempt to remove the old one. You are probably wondering 'ok, big deal, just do it'. Not so FREAKING easy when you are working with bayonet light bulbs! (For those that don't know, these were invented by the English to make putting a light bulb in so you don't have to twist so many times........WHATEVER!) So can ya guess what I did??? I managed to pull the bulb away from the fitting. So I tried the cut-potato trick. Didn't work. Maybe it doesn't work with bayonets? I have work to do today for my job which requires the light in my scrap room. Oh well. What a stupid invention! I much rather have my screw bulbs and screw bayonets!

And Here IT Is..............

Back in October I did a list of 25 things for each of my girls. I mentioned scrapbooking them. Well I never got around to it back then (I didn't get much scrapbooking done with working so much!) but I just finished Kamryn's. I thought I would share since I am sooooooooo over the moon about how this one turned out!!! Very happy with it. Now I just hope I can make Lauryn's look just as awesome!

*FYI: I also did a calendar for my mom for Christmas that is at my gallery if you want to have a look. She just got it and loves it! I don't think I have ever heard her so excited about one thing!*

Baby Babble

After reading Lisa's post, I thought I would mention a few words that Lauryn is saying. Melissa told me the other day that she chatters a lot and she can't believe how much she chatters for a baby. I do believe this has something to do with having an older sister. I don't know that Lauryn is as clear with her words as Kamryn was but I do think she babbles more. Here is what I can think of at the moment:

Daddy (she will go through a store saying 'daaa deee')
Mommy
Tiss (kiss)
Tanks (thanks)
Nooo!
Gook (book)
Bubby (our cat)
Up
Where are you? (tends to run together)
Ooo ah!
Yummy
iloveyou (all one word)
Clap
Hi
Dink (drink)

I'm sure there are others and I know I thought of more the other day but do ya think I wrote them down? No. But at least I have this now and I can scrapbook it! She does babble all the time and sometimes you wish it wasn't so much ;)

She's Having a Baby

Nope, not me lol. It's Kamryn. Ok, well not her either but I will explain. Yesterday she was on the potty going poo and I was waiting for her so I could wipe her bum.

K: "My belly really hurts, Mommy. I think it's because my baby is ready to come out."
Me: "Really? You think that's why?"
K: "Yeah, because I think she is saying 'let me out!'"

It's funny how she talks these days. This morning she was saying "Mommy, we need to make another baby......but we need cookie dough. I don't think we have any but maybe we can make some more cookie dough."

I'm not sure what is about all this talk of babies! She has never talked about when Lauryn was born as we never know how much she remembers. But lately (last few months) she has talked about me going to the hospital and having Lauryn and her coming to see me. She knows it in great detail. It's fascinating to me that at the time she said nothing so we didn't figure it would something that would stick in her mind. But it obviously has. And out of everything that happened that day, she never mentions the pain I was in, that she was scared or anything about me laboring at home in the pool. Obviously those parts weren't 'out of the norm' for her but the hospital was something that made an impression. But no there won't be any babies anytime soon, from me or my daughter!
